Parallel Lines

Have you ever felt like your life exists in two parallel lines never quite reaching that intersection point where everything falls into place?

I know I have. But lately, I've come to see this as a beautiful opportunity for growth, rather than a frustrating limitation. I wrote in my journal:

I am exactly who I want to be…

and also still working on myself.

This is what I think it must feel like to be a set of parallel lines. Chasing each other in continuity, and never intersecting…because that would be something totally different.

To me, these parallel lines represent two different versions of myself: the person I am today, and the person I'm striving to become. And while these two versions of myself may never fully intersect, they are both equally important and necessary for my growth and development.

Think about it: every experience we have, every lesson we learn, shapes us into the person we are today. And every experience and lesson to come will shape us even further. Each version of ourselves is like a work of art in progress, with its own unique beauty and value.

So why do we sometimes feel like we're falling short? Why do we get discouraged when we can't seem to reach that elusive intersection point? I think it's because we're too focused on the destination, rather than the journey.

Instead of striving for that perfect convergence point, we should embrace the journey of becoming our best selves. We should celebrate every lesson learned, every challenge overcome, every obstacle faced. Because these are the things that make us who we are, and they will continue to shape us into who we're meant to be.

So if you ever feel like you're chasing that other version of yourself, just remember: you are allowed to enjoy who you are today, and still be working on yourself. And that's a beautiful thing. Embrace every moment of your journey, and trust that you're on the path that's meant for you.

What’s for you won’t miss you babe! 🫶🏾✨
